SQL RC field

data-center

When creating a field in dbdict you can you see at the bottom a dropdown box called SQL RC which you can set to true or false.

What does this field do?

Answer:
Basically, it tells Service Manager to save the value in P4 storage format. You normally see in database then the value to start all with special string, and there are start and end marks around the values (like array elements).

You use it when mapping to BLOB, TEXT, MEMO, as then the way it is stored to RDBMS doesn’t tell the structure, and Service Manager must take care on keeping the right structure itself. So i.e. in the opposite, you don’t enable SQL RC, when mapping array to multi-row-array table.
