Change default port of RC

HP Release Control

While setting up RC on Windows Server along with tomcat, we will need to change the default port of RC to avoid any conflicts with default port of tomcat. To do that, here is the steps:

We need to make three changes in server.xml file if we want to change RC port.

Steps related to that are

1. Stop the RC services.

2 Go to \HP\RC920\servers\server-0\conf path and open server.xml file. Make sure you take a backup of server.xml file before you do the changes.

LET ASSUME YOU WANT TO SET PORT AS 8100 , PLEASE DO THE BELOW STEPS

Search for the line : Connector port=”8080″

By default, Tomcat runs on port 8080. Replace 8080 with any free port e.g 8100

3. Search for the line :

<Server port=”8005″ shutdown=”SHUTDOWN” debug=”0″>

Replace 8005 with any free port e.g 8105

4. Search for the line :

<Connector port=”8009″
enableLookups=”false” redirectPort=”8443″ debug=”0″
protocol=”AJP/1.3″ />

Replace 8009 with any free port e.g. 8109

5. Ensure that all ports specified in step 2 ,3 and 4 are free.
6. Start the RC services

After that, the RC is up with new port
